LOL. Had to post that last one. Those people are funny too. Said something like "its not that I'm questioning your patriotism..."

What would make the SC Conservative think I care what he thinks about me?

"What s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." William Shakespeare from Romeo and Juliet.

Yes, we do try to give our children unique names to distinguish them from others or for sentimental reasons. For some, honoring our favorite band, entertainer, politician (now that's sick), or song is the motivation behind dumb names like the ones coming from the 60s generation. Most changed their names when they were legally able to. Remember David Carradine and Barbara Hershey when they would take their naked son named "Freedom" to the Brown Derby? Wonder if Freedom still has his name or if he changed it? Wonder if he still goes to the Brown Derby naked? "Chastity" Bono? Frank Zappa hanging the labels "Moon Unit and Dweezil" on his kids? The Age of Aquarius did indeed leave it's mark behind in more ways than one. A great play on first and last names goes to Rob Morrow who named his child "Tu". Tu Morrow - get it?

My sister would never forgive me if she found out I let this out. My mother gave her the middle name of Arabella, which was a constant source of embarrassment during her formative years. After she married and moved to the frigid north country, her first official act was to legally change it to Ann. We still tease her at times.

Pee Paw, I think you may be right about the Bruce Willis thing.

Wait, what is that refrain from an old late night movie creeping back into my memory? It's getting louder and louder! All right!!
"I hear the cottonwoods whisperin' above........" There goes my day!
:) :) :) :) :)

hehe. My grandmother's name was Clytie. Yep. Clytie. And OH how I loved her so. But I would never do that my daughter. Grandma would haunt me if I did. :)

I've always been intrigued by the comings and goings of the popularity of children's names. I haven't met many Tammys who are now happy with their names. And, I couldn't bring myself to name my daughter after my grandmother, Fannie. But, I think once all the investigative reporters have done their jobs, we'll learn that these names were chosen because it will be revealed that Gov. Palin has had a long-term, ongoing affair with Bruce Willis.
